Wat Pho: A World Heritage Site

🏖️Overview:
Wat Pho, one of Thailand's 🇹🇭 three major temples, is also known as the "Temple of the Reclining Buddha" and serves as a landmark. The main attraction is undoubtedly the massive golden Reclining Buddha, which is 45 meters long and 15 meters high. The soles of its feet, measuring about 5 meters wide, are adorned with 108 intricate patterns representing offerings, deities, and the worldview of Thai Buddhism. Additionally, Wat Pho is said to be the birthplace of traditional Thai 🇹🇭 massage. Besides the Reclining Buddha, the temple grounds also feature beautifully crafted stupas dedicated to past kings, which are a must-see.

💞Why We Recommend It:
Wat Pho is arguably the place where you can most strongly feel the essence of Bangkok 🇹🇭. It is easily accessible via the MRT subway, just a short walk from the station. The Reclining Buddha within the temple grounds is massive and awe-inspiring 🫢. While you can view it up close, there is a barrier preventing direct contact. The soles of the Buddha's feet feature intricate spiral-like patterns that are mesmerizing. While the temple grounds are impressive, the stupas outside are equally stunning, especially as they reflect sunlight ☀️ at different times of the day, creating a breathtaking sight. We recommend visiting at various times 🕰️ to fully appreciate the changing scenery.
