Visiting Spain for the first time, I had done my research thoroughly. While the iconic Sagrada Família was a must-see, I also stumbled upon numerous stunning historical sites, breathtaking castles, and magnificent churches. I highly recommend Barcelona as a city you must visit at least once in your lifetime!
I was incredibly fortunate to visit Spain during the week of the annual Barcelona Festival. We were lucky enough to witness the grand and beautiful fireworks display on the final day. Accompanied by live music, it was truly a spectacular experience!
In addition, landmarks like the Arc de Triomf, Estació de França, and the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya are not only visually impressive but also rich in historical significance. They are definitely worth taking the time to explore and appreciate.
When it comes to food, Spain's tapas, small dishes typically enjoyed with drinks, are a must-try. In the evenings, street vendors set up tents selling drinks and tapas, creating a cozy atmosphere where friends can gather, drink, and enjoy the warm night.
Another must-try is the famous churros. Freshly fried and crispy, these dough sticks paired with chocolate sauce are a delightful treat to enjoy while strolling around.
Lastly, you absolutely have to try the octopus tentacles. Unlike the chewy texture I had expected, they were fresh, tender, and bursting with ocean flavor. Paired with golden runny egg yolk and creamy mashed potatoes, it’s a taste that lingers in your memory and keeps you coming back for more.
