Romantic Escape @ Lone Pine Hotel, Penang

We were here to celebrate my partner's birthday and booked the Super Deluxe Sea Facing Room which included a cosy room with a spacious daybed. We love the spaciousness of the room and having relaxing in the bathtub at the balcony is wonderful!

In terms of onsite restaurants, we stayed at the hotel when the hotel was undergoing upgrading works so the heritage restaurant section was closed off. So instead, to celebrate, we ordered the tiffin meal from the hotel which was great. As it was raining, we could not dine by the pool, so the staff offered to have the meal sent to our room which we enjoyed at the balcony. Portions were generous and the food was good.

However, breakfast took a disappointing turn as it was held at one of the walkway sections with canopies set up. Selection was minimal as well. This was when the hotel was undergoing upgrading works so hopefully the spread is better now at the heritage bungalow.

There are 2 pools and a small gym. Nothing much other than that, so we would say that if you’re looking to stay indoors in the room, then this hotel is wonderful and relaxing. However, if you love the beach and are looking for more kid friendly activities, then perhaps look
elsewhere.
