Guide to Zhongnan Grottoes:
Attraction introduction:
Nankang Grottoes: Located in the southern suburbs of Bazhong City, Sichuan Province, it is a business card of Bazhong City and is known as "the best in the country for colorful sculptures in the prosperous Tang Dynasty". The grottoes were first excavated in the Northern and Southern Dynasties and flourished in the Tang Dynasty. They have a history of more than 1,300 years. There are more than 170 existing Buddhist niches and more than 2,700 statues, mainly Buddhist. It brings together the statues of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism. It is an important material for the study of Chinese grotto art.
Recommended statues: Bishamonten (Cave No. 11), Two-headed Rui Statue (Cave No. 83), Suigetsu Guanyin (Cave No. 20), etc. These statues have their own characteristics, exquisite craftsmanship, and are breathtaking.
Featured landscapes: Buddha tent-shaped niches, double-layer eaves, owl tails, ring curtains, hanging tents and canopies and other details are carefully crafted and very exquisite.
Nankong Mountain Scenic Area: Located near Nankong Grottoes, there is also the Sichuan-Shaanxi Revolutionary Base Museum in the scenic area, which is free and can be visited together.

Tickets: HKD40/person (prices may vary, please refer to the actual ticket price at the scenic spot).
Opening hours: Open all year round, 08:00-17:00 (the specific time is subject to the announcement of the scenic spot).
Transportation: You can take bus No. 33 and get off at Yinhe Intersection Station of the South Second Ring Road or Agricultural Technology Station, and you can walk for a few minutes to get there.
Food recommendations: Bazhong oil tea, steamed buns, shredded chicken and tofu and other local specialties are not to be missed.
