If you are looking to escape the bustling city streets of Beijing and find a peaceful retreat, Beihai Park is a must-visit! During my recent trip, I spent an enchanting afternoon wandering through this historic park, where lush greenery and sparkling lakes make for a truly calming experience.
🌿 Beihai Park is one of China’s oldest and best-preserved imperial gardens. With its stunning temples, serene lake and beautiful pathways surrounded by ancient trees, it feels like stepping back in time. The iconic White Pagoda atop Jade Flower Island is a sight to behold and offers an incredible view of the park’s lush landscape. #historicallandmarks
Tips for a Memorable Visit:
- Best time to visit: Go in the afternoon, as I did, when the light softens over the lake, creating a magical, almost dreamlike atmosphere. The evenings are less crowded, so you can stroll peacefully without too many people around.
- Must-see spots: Don’t miss the While Pagoda for scenic views! The Circular City is also a fascinating stop with a mix of ancient architecture and gardens. #pagoda
- Getting around: The park is vast, so wear comfortable walking shoes! Consider renting a boat to explore the lake - it’s a relaxing way to soak in the views from the water.
After a day of exploring, unwind at the lakeside teahouse with a cup of traditional Chinese tea. It’s a quiet way to end the visit, and the views make it feel truly special. #traditionalculture #explore
Beihai Park was a highlight of my Beijing trip, and I can’t recommend it enough for anyone looking for a mix of culture, nature and tranquility. Happy exploring! ✨
