Zhoukoudian Peking Man Site

🌟Highlights:
The Zhoukoudian Peking Man Site is located in Longgu Mountain, Zhoukoudian, Fangshan District, Beijing. It is known as the holy land of paleoanthropology. Archaeological discoveries show that Peking Man lived between 500,000 and 200,000 years ago, and was a primitive human being in the middle stage of evolution from apes to Homo sapiens. In 1987, the Zhoukoudian Peking Man Site became a World Cultural Heritage Site.

❀Recommended reasons:
The Zhoukoudian Site dates back from 5 million years ago to more than 10,000 years ago. Fossils of Homo erectus (700,000–200,000 years ago), early Homo sapiens (200,000–100,000 years ago), and late Homo sapiens (about 30,000 years ago) have been discovered here.

📝Tips:
The museum and the site are several kilometers apart, and the tickets are charged separately.
