The caisson of Xiannongtan is the treasure of the Beijing Ancient Architecture Museum🎇, with extremely high artistic value and historical and cultural value:
Caisson in the main hall of Wanshan Zhengjue Hall in Longfu Temple (Caisson in the Heavenly Palace)
Appearance and structure: The whole structure is golden yellow, more than 4 meters high, about 3 meters in diameter, with six floors from top to bottom, and each layer of the palace reaches directly to the Milky Way ✨. Each layer has a circular cloud pattern carved frame structure. The square well contains a round well, and the round well contains a square well, incorporating the concept of the round sky and the square earth. The first, second, third and fifth floors are decorated with heavenly palaces shaped like jade buildings, which are meticulously carved and surrounded by colorful clouds and many gods and fairies. The wall panels and ceilings on the second and fourth floors are painted with lifelike statues of the twenty-eight constellations. At the four corners of the caisson are four guardian heavenly kings, carved from wood, holding up the ceiling.
Star map: On the top cover plate is a star map painted with gold leaf, with a blue background and 1,427 stars. It is said that this map was drawn with reference to a star map from the Tang Dynasty. On the deep blue sky, there are many golden stars inlaid. Even in the eyes of modern people, the content of the star map is relatively complete and there are no major conceptual errors. It is a professional star map with high scientific value and a precious astronomical relic.
