This time I accidentally visited the Beijing Ancient Architecture Museum, and it was totally beyond my expectations! This was originally the "Xiannongtan" inside Yongdingmen, and has now been converted into a theme museum that showcases ancient Chinese architectural art.
The space inside the museum is not big, but it is super informative, like a living architecture class~
✨ What's inside?
• Detailed introduction to the structure, roof style, tiles, brackets, archways and other design principles of ancient Chinese architecture
• The most amazing thing is the only "starry sky caisson" in the museum. It is really dreamy when you look up! The meticulous painting and symmetrical beauty fully reflect the artistic value of ancient Chinese architecture.
• Each exhibition hall has a physical model + clear explanation, which makes me respect the concept of "how to build a house"
• Address: No. 21 Dongjing Road, Xicheng District, Beijing (Inside Xiannongtan)
• Opening hours:
🕰️Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday 9:00–16:30 (no admission after 16:00); closed on Mondays (except holidays)
Ticket price: Adult ticket: 15 yuan
Transportation: Take Metro Line 7 [Hufangqiao Station] Exit C and walk for about 10 minutes; there is also a bus stop nearby

If you also like ancient architecture, traditional crafts, or want to explore Beijing's niche attractions, this place is definitely worth putting on your itinerary!
