Beijing's Top Hiking Spot for Stunning Photos | Baili Gallery Hiking Guide
If you want to escape the city noise and immerse yourself in nature, Yanqing's Baili Gallery is the perfect choice. It’s not just a paradise for road-trippers but also a haven for hikers!
Navigate to "Qianjiadian Town Government" – this is the starting point of your hike.
1. Follow the Baihe River all the way from Qianjiadian Town to Ganggou. The full route is 19km, mostly on flat roads and riverside trails with almost no elevation gain, making it beginner-friendly.
- Hiking time: approx. 6 hours. Start early to enjoy the scenery at a leisurely pace.
**Scenery Along the Way**
Walk alongside the winding Baihe River, with its crystal-clear, shimmering water. Rolling green mountains stretch into the distance, and the fresh air is incredibly rejuvenating.
- Pass by several picturesque multi-arched bridges—perfect photo spots!
- Many spots allow you to step down to the riverbank and dip into the cool water, especially refreshing in summer.
**Hiking Tips:**
1. If 19km feels too long, hike just the second half: from Xiushui Bay to the Geological Park. This section features stunning riverside paths and wooden boardwalks.
2. Restrooms are available at the starting point, Xiushui Bay, and the endpoint.
3. Restaurants are plentiful, but convenience stores are scarce (only near Liudaohe Village and the endpoint). Bring enough water and snacks.
4. In summer, wear sunscreen, bug repellent, and a mask (poplar fluff is common now).
**Nearby Attractions:**
- **Petrified Wood National Geological Park**: See 140-million-year-old petrified wood. Ticket: ¥30/person.
- **Black Dragon Gorge**: A deep canyon with roaring waterfalls. 2km trail. Ticket: ¥30/person.
- **Dishui Lake**: Features a unique small waterfall and Lotus Cave. Ticket: ¥25/person.
**Food Recommendations:**
- **Tofu Banquet**: Famous in Liugou Village—delicious and nutritious tofu dishes.
- **Reservoir Fish**: Try the "Three Ways to Cook Blackfish"—tender and flavorful.
**Transportation:**
1. **By Car (Recommended)**: More flexibility. From North 5th Ring Road, ~2.5-hour drive.
- Northern Route: Jingzang Highway → Yanqing → Luanchi Road (scenic!).
- Southern Route: Jingli Highway → Yongning Ancient Town → Liubinbu Village.
2. **By Bus**: Take Bus 919 Express from Deshengmen to Yanqing Nancaiyuan Station, then transfer to Y13/Y28. Limited schedules, less convenient.
