Beihai Park – Beijing’s Imperial Garden Oasis

A Timeless Masterpiece
As one of China’s oldest and best-preserved imperial gardens, Beihai Park has enchanted visitors for over 1,000 years. Built in the 10th century and expanded by Kublai Khan, this 69-hectare UNESCO site blends classical Chinese landscaping with Tibetan-inspired architecture.

Why It’s Special
✔ White Dagoba (Qionghua Island): The park’s iconic Tibetan-style stupa towers over the lake, built in 1651 to honor the Dalai Lama.
✔ Nine-Dragon Wall: One of China’s three surviving glazed-tile dragon screens(5m tall, 27m long).
✔ Circular City (Tuancheng): A hidden gem with a 3,000-year-old jade urn gifted by Kublai Khan.
✔ Boating on the Lake: Paddle under willow trees past historic bridges and pavilions.
