Introduction to the Scenery of Legu Silver Beach
Legu Silver Beach is located in the Shidu Natural Scenic Area of Fangshan District, Beijing, nestled in the grand canyon of the Taihang Mountains. Known for its karst canyon scenery, it is often praised as the "Little Guilin of Western Beijing." Here’s an introduction to its main attractions:
Canyon Scenery
Towering Peaks: The area features majestic peaks and steep cliffs standing in opposition, with a deep canyon and mountains of varied shapes on both sides—some like swords piercing the sky, others like giant beasts resting quietly, forming a magnificent landscape painting.
Pools and Waterfalls: Along the way, there are numerous crystal-clear deep pools and cascading waterfalls. The emerald-green pools and thundering waterfalls create a spectacular sight, reminiscent of the poetic line, "The waterfall plunges three thousand feet, as if the Milky Way were falling from the heavens." Among them, the Erlong Pool is the main water source for the rafting route, renowned for its clear, mineral-rich water, earning it the title of "natural mineral water."
Glass Walkway and Suspension Bridge
Qingyun Glass Walkway: Stretching 168 meters at an altitude of over 300 meters, this walkway hangs on a hundred-meter cliff with transparent glass underfoot, offering a panoramic view of the Juma River Canyon. The winding path evokes the poetic sentiment of "mountains and rivers seeming to end, only to reveal another village," combining the thrill of heights with the grandeur of the canyon.
Qingtian Glass Suspension Bridge: Spanning 158 meters between the cliffs of Tianzi Peak and Lover’s Ridge at an altitude of over 300 meters, this bridge features high-strength, impact-resistant, triple-laminated tempered glass for safety. Standing on the bridge, visitors can gaze into the abyss below, surrounded by mist, while taking in the sweeping views of the rolling green mountains and the winding Juma River.
Karst Cave Wonders
The area boasts several natural karst caves, such as the Golden Toad Cave. Inside, stalactites, stalagmites, and stone pillars form various shapes—some like towering jade columns, others like hanging curtains or lifelike animal figures—creating a mysterious underground palace.
Vegetation and Seasonal Scenery
Legu Silver Beach is rich in vegetation, offering distinct seasonal views. In spring, wildflowers bloom across the mountains in vibrant reds, yellows, and purples, painting a picturesque scene. In summer, lush greenery provides a natural retreat from the heat. Autumn brings fiery red leaves contrasting with the emerald Juma River, while winter transforms the landscape into a snowy wonderland with frozen waterfalls, showcasing the charm of northern scenery.
