Simatai Great Wall of China.

Getting There - We were picked up by a van at a main subway station early in the morning at 9am to drive to the water town. The ride was very comfy and the views were scenic on the drive.
Attractions - The Gubei Water Town is not very crowded and features many free performances around the town. Our guide Cindy texted me the locations of each performance in the city so we wouldn’t miss any.
We only went on a day trip, but I wish we booked a whole night here! There was still so much to see that a day tour couldn’t show.
We paid an additional fee to get up to Simatai Great Wall by cable car. Even with the cable car, there was still about a 20 minute hike with bumpy steps and stairs so beware of that!
The view up there was so worth the heat and the hike, we basically had it all to ourselves as it was almost empty!
Food & Restaurants - Our tour package came with a free hotpot lunch and was more than enough for my group of 7 people! Super tasty!
Shopping - Lots of little shops nearby to choose from if you wanted a souvenir, but there are no branded stores in this town. But you should definitely check out all the aesthetic cafes around the area, they are so cute!
There is even a free foot spa hot spring in the middle of the town for after your Great Wall hike!
Definitely highly recommend this place, and I’m bringing people once I come back, I loved it so much 🥰#travel #china #gubeiwatertown #beijing #hiddengem #familytravel
