💪🌄 Touch the Sky at Mutianyu Great Wall – Where Ancient History Meets Epic Views!
Ready for Beijing’s iconic adventure? Mutianyu Great Wall is a beautifully-preserved stretch, known for lush scenery, fewer crowds, and thrilling towers to climb. It's perfect for a full-day escape from the city bustle!
🧭 Recommended Route:
Start at Mutianyu Village in Huairou District. Enter early to beat the crowds and enjoy the cool morning air. Take the cable car up for a sweeping first look, then hike along to Tower 20 (“the peak of peaks”) for incredible panoramas.
✨ Must-do Experiences:
– Walk the “Snake Path” between towers 1–20; it’s less steep and packed with gorgeous forest views.
– Try the awesome toboggan slide down (so much fun and saves tired legs)!
– Climb up the tallest watchtower for a feeling of standing above the clouds.
📸 Insta-worthy Angles:
– Capture Tower 20 at sunrise or sunset for dramatic light shots.
– Snap the winding wall disappearing into emerald hills – best from the cable car or drones (if allowed).
– Tower 14 and “Ox Horn Edge” are epic spots for panoramic selfies.
🔑 Practical Tips:
– Opening hours change with the seasons: In summer weekends (Jun–Aug), it’s open til 9pm; otherwise, 7:30am–6:30pm.
– Admission costs ¥45; tickets stop selling about an hour before closing.
– Bring snacks, water, and sun protection – there’s more hiking than you think!
– Arrive early for peace and better photos.
⚠️ Precautions:
– Wear sturdy shoes: Steps can be uneven and steep.
– Watch out for strong sun—bring a hat or umbrella.
– The slide and cable car can get busy midday; time your descent wisely.
