"Umi Jigoku" is a geothermally heated cobalt blue hot spring. It boasts the largest scale of the "Hell Tour," a staple of Beppu tourism. In 2009, it was designated a National Place of Scenic Beauty along with the Blood Pond Hell, Tornado Hell, and White Pond Hell!

The stunning blue color was even more stunning than I imagined, and I was amazed at how beautiful it was!
The steam rising from the water made me feel the natural power of the earth.
