'Tomonaga Bakery'

Located in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture, this bakery was established in 1916 (Taisho 5) and is a beloved long-standing shop 🍞. It's always bustling with customers forming a line outside. Although I had known about this bakery for a while, I hadn't had the chance to visit until this trip to Oita. Finally, I made it there this time ¨̮♡.

Before lining up, you receive a clipboard to write down your order. Once it's your turn, your number will be called, and you can enter the shop, hand over your order sheet, and receive your bread.

Even if you didn't write it on the order sheet, you can still add more items to your purchase.

As soon as you step inside, you're greeted by the delightful aroma of freshly baked bread 🍞.

I purchased:
✤ Tsubu Anpan (red bean paste bread)
✤ Chocolate Bread
✤ Cheese French Bread
✤ "Wan-chan" (custard cream bread)
✤ Shokupan (mountain-shaped loaf bread)

Everything looked so delicious that I wanted to buy it all! Some customers, knowing they might not get to visit often, were buying in bulk.

The traditional-style bread was soft, fluffy, and incredibly tasty (◦ˉ ˘ ˉ◦).
