If you're visiting Beppu, many people often go on the Hell Tour.

Having visited all the hells myself, honestly, you don't need to see them all. But if you want to visit one or two, Sea Hell is a great choice.

It's the largest in scale, offers foot baths, and has a well-stocked souvenir shop. Visiting just Kamado Hell and Sea Hell is more than enough.

When I went, it was extremely hot, so there were hardly any people. However, these days, with direct flights to Oita and many day tours available, it's become quite popular.

Also, be cautious of burns.

Visiting in winter might be better than summer.
