Bergen, Norway

Arriving in Bergen was like stepping into a postcard. Nestled between mountains and fjords, this colorful city quickly became one of my favorite places in Norway. The first thing I saw was Bryggen, the old Hanseatic Wharf, with its iconic row of wooden houses painted in red, yellow, and orange. Walking through these narrow alleys felt like stepping back into medieval times. The Fish Market was another highlight – I tried fresh salmon and king crab, and it was some of the best seafood I’ve ever tasted. One of the most unforgettable experiences was taking the Fløibanen funicular up Mount Fløyen. From the top, I had breathtaking panoramic views of Bergen, the fjords, and even small islands scattered in the distance. The air was so fresh, and there were hiking trails everywhere, making it a paradise for nature lovers. What makes Bergen so special is how cozy and artistic it feels, with small shops, street art, and live music filling the streets. Even though it rains a lot, the weather just added to the charm – walking under the mist with colorful umbrellas made the city look magical. Bergen truly deserves its title as the “Gateway to the Fjords,” and I’d go back in a heartbeat to explore even more of its stunning landscapes.
