Bilbao Fine Arts Museum

Bilbao Fine Arts Museum is one of Spain's most significant art museums, renowned for its exceptional collection quality and extensive range spanning from ancient to contemporary works.

Established in 1908, the museum merged with the Museum of Modern Art in 1945, forming its current scale. Its collection boasts over 10,000 pieces, covering a timeline from the 13th century to the present day. The core of the collection is divided into three main categories: classical master paintings (featuring Spanish greats like El Greco, Zurbarán, and Goya), modern and avant-garde art (including works by Gauguin, Bacon, and prominent Basque artists such as Regoyos), and contemporary art.

Located next to Doña Casilda Park in Bilbao, the museum's building itself is a blend of classical and modern architecture, having undergone multiple expansions to accommodate its growing collection. Recognized as one of Spain's leading art institutions, it stands alongside the famous Guggenheim Museum as one of Bilbao's two cultural pillars.
