Yixing 🇨🇳 Jiangsu

Yixing in Jiangsu was advertised with the roadside paintings as a stunning bamboo forest that was very foggy. (Pic5)

Yixing was literally a stunning bamboo forest national park with ridiculous amounts of fog both days we were there.

The area is lovely with little restaurants and b&b's plus a couple big hotels near the national park entrance.

We stayed at the Bamboo international hotel and it was superb, they were accepting of our road bikes and breakfast was an array of Chinese foods.

In the evenings we tried the local restaurants and they were cosy and all had lots of bamboo, potato and pork dishes.

On our second day we went into the national park and went up a very long cableway (potentially 30mins). The higher we went the less we could see, but it was fun to walk around the peaks in thick fog and kinda eerie. The lakes and scenery are beautiful and I will return in the future in hope of a slightly clearer day.

Getting There- Self-drive, Taxi, tour bus or cycle. The roads are steep and very tight, great for cyclists who love mountain climbing as there wasn't much traffic.
