Guangdong Luofu Mountain trip is back, and I really don’t recommend going in August because it’s just too amazing

Luofu Mountain, a famous Lingnan mountain praised by Su Shi as “Spring all year round under Luofu Mountain, with oranges and bayberries blooming in turn,” is not only a national 5A-level scenic spot but also one of the top ten Taoist caves. It boasts both stunning natural scenery and rich cultural heritage. As a travel enthusiast who just returned from Luofu Mountain, I’ve compiled my personal experience into this guide, so quickly save it!

🎫Ticket Information:

- Adult Ticket: 54 RMB/person, with a 20% discount on statutory holidays, only 43 RMB/person.

- Discount Ticket: Minors under 18 and full-time students with undergraduate or lower education level can enjoy half price with valid ID.

- Free Admission: Children under 1.3 meters, seniors over 60, national veterans, and other entitled groups can enter for free.

🕙Opening Hours: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM. For night hiking enthusiasts, night climbing is free from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the next day, but be sure to take safety precautions and bring lighting tools.

🚗Transportation Guide:

- Self-driving: Navigate directly to “Luofu Mountain Scenic Area.” The scenic area has parking lots, and parking is relatively convenient. However, it’s best to arrive early on holidays to avoid the headache of finding a parking spot.

- High-speed Rail: Take the train to “Luofu Mountain Station,” then transfer to bus route 268 to reach the scenic area directly, saving money and hassle.

- Long-distance Bus: There are direct buses from Tianhe Bus Terminal to Changning Town, Boluo County, then transfer to Boluo 268 bus.

🗺Tour Routes:

- Hiking Challenge Route: Scenic Area Gate 2 → Lion Peak → Lunlongping → Eagle Beak Rock → Hero Slope → Feiyun Peak. The whole route takes about 4-6 hours, suitable for those with good stamina and who love challenges. Along the way, you can take in breathtaking mountain views, and the sense of achievement at the summit is incredible!

- Cable Car Leisure Route: Scenic Area Gate 2 → Bailian Lake → Dongjiang Column Memorial Hall (sightseeing bus ticket point) → take the cable car → Eagle Beak Rock → Hero Slope → Feiyun Peak. The whole route takes 2-4 hours. Cable car one-way ticket is 70 RMB/person, round trip 120 RMB/person, student ticket one-way 35 RMB/person, children under 130 cm free. Taking the cable car saves energy and offers a different perspective of the scenery. From Eagle Beak Rock, you can overlook the beautiful view of Huizhou.

- Foot of the Mountain Cultural Route: Scenic Area Main Gate → Fairyland on Earth → Bailian Lake (right side) → Dongjiang Column Memorial Hall → Chongxu Ancient Temple → Hundred Herbs Oil Cultural History Corridor → Dongpo Pavilion, Hundred Herbs Garden, Qinghao Garden → Ge Hong Museum. This route is relaxed and leisurely, allowing you to deeply experience the history and culture of Luofu Mountain, perfect for a casual stroll.

- Thrilling Activities Route: Glass rafting, jungle zipline, jungle crossing, etc. Glass rafting costs 160 RMB/adult per time, 100 RMB/child per time; jungle zipline uphill 20 RMB/time, downhill 50 RMB/time, with discounts for children; jungle crossing tickets are 95 RMB/child per time, 150 RMB/adult per time. If you love excitement, don’t miss these—guaranteed to get your heart racing!

🍱Food Recommendations:

- Luofu Mountain Kiln Chicken: A must-try! Made from local native chickens, marinated with secret spices and roasted, the skin is golden and crispy, the meat tender and juicy. One bite is super satisfying, and many people come to Luofu Mountain just for this dish.

- Baitang White Cut Goose: Made from home-raised grass geese about 100 days old, processed with simple yet meticulous techniques, soaked in clear broth, sliced and dipped in special sauce. The fresh flavor of the goose spreads in your mouth, leaving a lasting aftertaste.
