Self-driving in Tibet|A Turn on G318 to Gaze at Langqiu Glacier

Driving on G318, the road from Ranwu to Bomi is flanked by dense forests that block the view.
Navigate to "Langqiu Glacier," then turn left off G318 before reaching the destination. The side road suddenly opens up, and looking up, the magnificent Langqiu Glacier appears before your eyes. At this moment, I can only feel sorry for the self-driving tourists speeding by on the national highway just "one forest away"—they are so close to the beautiful scenery yet miss it.

▼ Can the glacier be seen from the roadside?
Yes, turning off G318 onto the Langqiu village side road allows a clear view of the glacier, which is not far in a straight line. Personally, I think autumn is the best time, with colorful forests on the mountains in front of the glacier creating a stunning backdrop. The distant view of the glacier is nearly perfect.
Of course, to get closer to the glacier, you need to drive about 10 kilometers more, then hike from the edge of the primeval forest.

▼ Introduction to Langqiu Glacier
Langqiu Glacier is a large maritime glacier located in Bomi County, Nyingchi City. It originates from the Gangrigabu Snow Mountain on the south bank of the Parlung Tsangpo River. There is more than one glacier near Langqiu village, so "Langqiu Glacier" refers to a glacier cluster.
The glaciers here are magnificent, and nearby is a vast primeval forest, showcasing a unique "dance of glacier and forest" spectacular.
We use aerial footage to show you how beautiful Langqiu is in autumn.

▼ Why recommend Langqiu Glacier?
In the words of Mr. Gou, "On a clear autumn day, see Langqiu Glacier." The clear autumn day is the key reason.
The peak season for self-driving tours in Tibet is usually summer, but I want to say that the highlight of the primeval forests around Nyingchi and Bomi is in autumn. The crisp autumn air and colorful forests make Langqiu Glacier a top-tier scenic spot.

🚙 Practical tips for self-driving tours
📱 Navigation: Set destination to "Langqiu Glacier"
🛣️ Road conditions: Fully paved asphalt roads. Near the glacier and primeval forest, hiking is required; the area is undeveloped and needs a guide.
🅿️ Parking: There is a viewing platform just after turning off G318 onto the Langqiu village side road. You can park here to view the glacier and colorful forests from a distance or use this spot for aerial photography.
⏳ Time needed: About half an hour to view the glacier from the platform; hiking to the glacier requires a full day.
