Bozhou Museum is located in Qiaocheng District, Bozhou City, Anhui Province. It is a comprehensive museum that mainly collects and organizes local cultural relics and historical materials, as well as local natural specimens. The architectural style of the museum imitates the Han Dynasty castle style. It covers an area of ​​about 25,000 square meters and a construction area of ​​about 5,200 square meters, of which the cultural relics exhibition hall covers an area of ​​about 2,800 square meters and the cultural relics storehouse covers an area of ​​about 1,200 square meters.
The history of Bozhou City Museum can be traced back to 1958, when its construction began, and it was officially opened to the public in 1973. In 1986, as Bozhou was promoted from a county to a city, the Bo County Museum was renamed Bozhou City Museum. In 2009, the renovated new building of Bozhou Museum was completed and opened to the public.
The museum has a rich collection, mainly including pottery and stone tools from the Neolithic Age, celadon and jade from the Han Dynasty, white porcelain and pottery figurines from the Sui Dynasty, sancai ware from the Tang Dynasty, and porcelain from the Song and Yuan Dynasties. Among them, exhibits such as the inscribed bricks unearthed from Cao Cao’s clan tombs are particularly precious.
The basic exhibition theme of Bozhou Museum is "Traveling Through Five Thousand Years - Searching for the Origin of Bozhou Culture". According to the context of historical development, the exhibition is divided into several parts, including the prologue hall, Wohe civilization, Shang Tang's capital Bo, Taoist holy land, Han and Wei style, the most famous city in the world, Bozhou merchants' market, and modern Bozhou. Through exquisite cultural relics display, scene restoration, electronic holographic technology and other means, the exhibition showcases Bozhou's profound cultural charm and colorful cultural relics.
Bozhou City Museum is not only the business card, cultural chip and historical negative of Bozhou city, but also a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, a national second-level museum, an Anhui Province Patriotism Education Demonstration Base, an Anhui Province Social Science Knowledge Popularization Base, and a Bozhou City Patriotism Education Demonstration Base. It has been rated as one of the ten most beautiful museums in Anhui Province and the most beautiful public cultural space in Anhui Province.
