Ever wanted to visit a French village but your wallet said “relax”? Same. So I did the next best thing: I went to Bukit Tinggi, Pahang — Malaysia’s very own mini Europe where croissants meet kampung vibes.
And let me tell you… it was le magical. Also slightly confusing.
Here’s how it went down:
🥐 Colmar Tropicale: Where I Said Oui to Every Photo Spot
This faux-French village has colourful buildings, cobblestone streets, and zero French people. But who cares when everything screams "Instagram me"?
👗 Dressed Like Emily in Paris, But Sweating Like Kak Siti in KL
Tried to serve “chic Parisian” but the humidity said otherwise. Still powered through with fan and iced Milo.
🦢 Japanese Village: Plot Twist in the Alps... I Mean, Hills
One minute I was eating baguettes, next minute I was wearing a yukata and feeding koi fish. This place is going through an identity crisis and I love it.
🫖 Tea at 3, Monkeys at 4
Yes, you can sip Japanese green tea in the hills. Also yes, wild monkeys might join the party.
Visitor Info for Fellow Adventurers

So if you're craving Europe on a teh ais budget, Bukit Tinggi is your girl. Just don’t forget:
Bring your camera,
Bring your sense of humour,
And don’t feed the monkeys. They’re not on the payroll.
