Hagia Sophia Mosque in the ancient city of Iznik

It was originally built as a church and was a historic Christian facility where the Council of Nicaea was held in ancient times, but was later renovated into a mosque and remains so to this day. Many tourists visit, but it is also visited by devout believers as an active mosque.
