Upon arriving at Gimhae International Airport, I was greeted by the iconic seagull and the "BUSAN" sign that I had seen on my friend's social media. It really hit me—I’m in Busan!
As a fan of DAY6, I couldn’t wait to visit Yeongjin Dwaeji Gukbap, recommended by Sungjin. I even got to sit at the exact table where they sat in their YouTube video (my heart was racing 💓). Being from Hakata, I found the broth to be lighter than typical tonkotsu ramen, making it easy to enjoy. But true to Korean style, the portion was huge 💦.
To work up an appetite, I strolled through Yongdusan Park and headed to a street food market. I had been dreaming of trying "mul-tteok" (water rice cake) for years, and finally got my chance. It was absolutely delicious 💖—chewy and smooth, with the perfect hint of oden broth. I also tried "siah hotteok," which was filled with grains and beans, and it was a flavor right up my alley 💗. I’m already planning to eat mul-tteok again on my next visit!
Next, I stopped by the famous MOMOS COFFEE for a café break ☕️. I ordered their signature drink topped with pistachio cream. These kinds of drinks have a distinct Korean flavor that I enjoy occasionally, and this one was no exception—it was delightful! However, I can’t forget the amazing iced Americano made with MOMOS beans that I had at another café. Next time, I’ll definitely try their coffee.
For dinner, I went to Kemi Jip 🐙 near Haeundae Beach. Even though I wasn’t very hungry, I couldn’t miss the chance to try their famous "nakgopsae" (octopus, tripe, and shrimp stir-fry). The octopus was incredibly tender and unlike anything I’ve had before—it was so delicious! Despite thinking I had no room left, I somehow finished the entire dish. It’s definitely worth the hype ⭐️.
I ended the day with a peaceful moonlit stroll along Haeundae Beach. The full moon was stunning, and I felt like I could gaze at it forever 🌕. The beach was also preparing for a sand sculpture festival, with intricate sculptures everywhere. I’d love to visit during the event someday.
It was a packed day, but I had an amazing time and fell in love with Busan’s charm.
