Busan Haedong Yonggungsa Temple Travelogue 🐉🌊
I visited Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, a temple facing the sea. Unlike other temples, it's not nestled in the mountains, but perched on a cliff above the azure sea. The scenery was truly impressive.
Descending the stone steps from the entrance, the majestic Daeungjeon Hall comes into view, accompanied by the sound of waves. The Buddhist statues and halls stand against the backdrop of the sea, giving the impression that the sky and sea are enveloping the temple. 🙏
The Wishing Stone Pagoda, statues of the twelve zodiac animals, and golden Buddha statues are scattered throughout, making for a delightful stroll. The sight of people praying in front of the dragon head sculpture was particularly captivating. There's a saying that goes, "If you make a wish, it will surely come true," so I remember making a small, sincere wish. Personally, I prayed for a son a long time ago, and now my youngest child is a son. Haha, I didn't pray for anything else this time.
Because you can't be too greedy~
The highlight of Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is the scenery where the sea and the temple merge into one. The waves, seen from the edge of the cliff, were refreshing and strangely calming. Even without taking a photo, it was a scene I'll remember for a long time.
On the way back, I warmed up by buying Busan fish cakes and roasted chestnuts from street vendors along the road. The sea breeze chilled my body a little, but it was a trip that warmed my heart.
