Geometric Sanctuary by the Desert Sea
An artistic experience that takes the aesthetics of light and shadow to the extreme
📍Location:
MIA Park, the Corniche, Doha (Located on an artificial island next to Doha's waterfront promenade)
🚗Transportation:
Metro is recommended. Take the metro to the National Museum and then transfer to a shuttle bus to reach the museum.
The daypass card didn’t work, but the driver kindly gave us a ride.
You can also take a taxi using Uber or Karwa.
🎫Tickets and Opening Hours:
Saturday to Thursday: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM; Friday: 1:30 PM - 7:00 PM; closed on Wednesdays. Dress appropriately, no strict dress code.
Security check is required at the entrance, and the ticket office is located after security.
There is a cultural and creative shop on the first floor for a quick browse, and other floors have separate exhibitions to visit. The sea view by the window is stunning, with clear, light green water. Whether the exhibitions are permanent or temporary depends on the current situation. The collection spans from the 7th to the 19th century and includes over 30,000 treasures from three continents. If you’re unsure what to see, start by browsing the souvenir shop on the first floor. The must-see treasures are usually made into souvenirs for display and sale, with explanations in Arabic and English. To thoroughly understand Islamic culture, allow about 2 hours for your visit.
When leaving, you can call or take a taxi. I used Uber, and the security guard even helped keep an eye on the license plate and location. The whole visit experience was excellent.
