Huzhou 3-Day 2-Night Family Travel Guide! 2025’s New Hotspot + Relaxed Parenting Trip

Chasing the tangerine-scented sunset over Taihu Lake with the kids in Huzhou, then touching a rainbow behind a waterfall—this trip, costing about 600 yuan per person, perfectly blends natural wild charm with family-friendly fun!

Nanxun: A Cultural Carnival in the Ancient Town

Early morning, take the high-speed train from Shanghai to Huzhou East Station in 1.5 hours, rent a car, and head straight to Nanxun Ancient Town. First, take the kids to the Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum to try tie-dyeing. My 8-year-old held a blue cloth square, chasing the master to ask how the patterns were made, and finally treasured the finished product, hanging it on his backpack. For lunch, eat Ding Sheng Cake at Baoshan Family Street; the freshly baked cake is soft and filled with the aroma of red bean paste.

In the afternoon, don’t miss the cyberpunk interactive game at Star Zero Boundary. Families team up for an offline challenge game, and the kids shouted, “It’s a hundred times more fun than phone games.” At dusk, take the 3-yuan water bus to see the lights of the Hundred Rooms building. The old riverside buildings reflect in the water like a spilled palette. If time allows, be sure to visit Shuanglin Children’s Museum Island, where kids wear VR glasses to “dive” into the deep sea and scream when they see a big shark.

Stay at Youshe Homestay, where the rooms are renovated ancient buildings. Before bed, the kids still study the carved beams above.

Anji: Cool Adventures in the Mountains and Wilderness

On the second day, drive 1 hour to Changgu Dongtian. As soon as you enter the scenic area, the kids pull you into the waterfall curtain cave. The water splashes coolly on your arms, and behind the rocks, you can even see a rainbow! Remember to have the kids wear creek shoes; in the shallow water, they can catch creek snails and build dams, playing until their clothes are soaked but not wanting to leave.

In the afternoon, go to Anlan Lake’s Floating Cloud Valley. The children’s drifting path is perfect for younger kids. Sitting in a kayak, slowly drifting through bamboo groves, occasionally encountering small drops, the kids’ laughter carries far. Stay overnight at Yieryi Homestay, where a creek runs through the backyard. Listening to the sounds of insects and flowing water before sleep, the kids fall asleep quickly.

Changxing: A Joyful Blast in the Amusement Park

Save the last day for Longzhimeng Amusement Park! When driving into the animal area, a white tiger brushed past the car window, and the kids nervously stomped their feet clutching the feeding bucket. In the walking area, feed the giraffes in the morning; for 20 yuan per bundle of branches, they gently come over to eat. In the afternoon, head to Yunmeng Valley Family Park. On the vast lawn of over 10,000 square meters, the kids chase corgis while I sit in a shaded pavilion sipping iced Americano, finally achieving the “relaxed parenting” vibe.

At night, don’t miss the Taihu Ancient Town fireworks show. At exactly 9 PM, fireworks explode in the night sky. The kids look up with eyes shining like stars. Before leaving, buy a portion of Zhoushengji chicken feet, braised soft and flavorful; the kids gnaw on two pieces in a row.

On the way back, the kids stuck the bamboo weaving pinwheel they made at the Bamboo Expo Park onto the car seat. When the wind blows, it spins loudly. They said, “Mom, next time we have to come catch fireflies again.” This is probably the best souvenir of a family trip~

Tips & Essentials

• Avoid: Don’t take the small train at Longzhimeng Zoo; the line is long and you can’t stop anytime. Driving yourself is more flexible. Don’t buy souvenirs randomly in the ancient town; they’re not cost-effective.

• Essentials: Sun hat, mosquito repellent patches, quick-dry children’s clothes (they’ll get wet playing in water), creek shoes, portable water bottle.
