BOH Tea Centre Sungai Palas, Cameron Highland

One of the highlights of my trip to the Cameron Highlands was visiting the BOH Tea Centre, Malaysia’s most famous tea plantation. Founded in 1929, BOH actually stands for “Best of Highlands” – and once you see the endless rolling green hills, you’ll understand why.
✨ Why Visit: The views are simply unforgettable. In the morning, a light mist floats over the tea bushes, creating a dreamy atmosphere. The Tea Centre has a large terrace café where you can sip a cup of freshly brewed Cameronian Gold Blend while gazing at the plantation. It’s the kind of experience that feels both peaceful and unique.
If you’re curious about the process, you can join a guided factory tour to see how tea leaves are harvested and processed. There’s also a shop where you can pick up special blends to take home – I bought some and it made the perfect souvenir.
✍🏼 Travel Tips:
- Go early: Mornings are less crowded and the light is beautiful for photos.
- Transport: The road is narrow and winding – if you don’t want to drive, consider a local tour like Eco Cameron.
- Time needed: Allow around 2–3 hours to walk, relax, and enjoy tea.
- Don’t miss: Pairing your tea with the local strawberry tart at the café – it’s a true Cameron Highlands treat!
- Bring a jacket: The highlands are cooler than the rest of Malaysia.
🌱 Visiting the BOH Tea Centre is more than just about tea – it’s about experiencing the natural beauty and history of the Cameron Highlands. For me, it was the perfect way to spend a morning, and I’d recommend it to anyone planning a trip here.
