There is also a mythological story about Langyin Tower. Lu Dongbin, one of the Eight Immortals, once came to Cangzhou and asked for more than a thousand buckets of Cangzhou wine. After drinking it all, he rode away on a crane. Later generations built a tower for this reason and made a statue of Lü Dongbin inside.

Lü Dongbin once wrote a poem:
"I got drunk three times in Yueyang and no one recognized me, my reciting poems flew over Dongting Lake", so this building was named Langyin Building.

Cangjiu is famous all over the world, and its secret is hidden in the Grand Canal under Nanchuan Building. There is a hidden spring in the middle of the riverbed of this section of the canal. The spring water is clear and sweet. The wine brewed with this spring water is the finest Cang wine.

Riding on the favorable conditions of the construction of the Grand Canal Cultural Belt, Nanchuan Tower and Langyin Tower reappeared on the bank of the canal.

The rebuilt Nanchuan Tower retains the architectural style of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, with carved beams and painted rafters, flying eaves and pointed corners, towering into the clouds. It is across the river from the Cangqu Book House on the ancient ferry of Nanchuan, and is also adjacent to the Langyin Tower and Qingfeng Tower to the north. The third floor is full of the city's colors, and the red and green fill the Whale River, making it a new landmark of Cangzhou culture.
