Carthage, a city established by the Phoenicians around the 9th century BCE, is a historically significant site that once vied for dominance over the Mediterranean with Rome.
Although Carthage was destroyed by Rome in the 1st century BCE, many of the ruins are from the Roman era. However, on "Byrsa Hill," remnants of Phoenician dwellings can still be found. From this hill, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the sparkling blue Mediterranean Sea 🌊✨.
Another rare and valuable Carthaginian relic is the "Tophet," a site dedicated to the gods of ancient Carthage. As for Roman-era ruins, there are scattered remains such as the "Antonine Baths," the "Amphitheater," and the "Roman Theater." The Antonine Baths are said to have had over 100 rooms, including cold baths and saunas, showcasing incredible luxury ✨.
The ruins, standing the test of time, are truly awe-inspiring!
