The changing leaves season on each continent is charming and attracts many tourists. It's a fascinating time of year to visit.
🌎 In Europe, the romantic autumn foliage season, with its vibrant colors of yellow, orange, and red, can be easily seen throughout Switzerland, especially from October 15th to 31st. However, the season depends on the cold weather, which varies from year to year. However, the most common date is the 3rd or 4th week of October.
🍁 This year, we'll take you to the major town of St. Moritz, located on the shores of Lake Lej da Staz, approximately 2 kilometers from the St. Moritz main train station.
🍂 This lake is known for its calm, windless waters and its surrounding mountains, dotted with only larch trees. This type of pine only changes its leaves to yellow, brown, and gold, and grows only in limited areas, at altitudes of 1,500 meters above sea level.
So, by the end of October, the leaves turn a golden color, reflecting off the surface of Lej da Staz, earning it the nickname "Mirror Lake." It creates beautiful and impressive scenery.
🚙 Access: By car, bike, on foot, or horseback (about a 30-minute walk from St. Moritz train station).
📎 There are hotels, restaurants, and cafes on the lakefront.
