I actually rented my dream house
Celebrating Labor Day early, I took my family and our little dog to Beidaihe for fun. We traveled all the way from Jinmeng Bay to Aranya, and the homestay we booked was absolutely amazing! Sharing it with everyone right away.
This is the closest sea to Beijing. Whenever it's a holiday or weekend and you feel like seeing the ocean, you can just go—it's about 280 kilometers away, roughly a 3-hour drive. The homestay is just across the road from Aranya and Alcadia, about 2-3 kilometers by car (since you need to make a U-turn). If you want to visit a free public beach, you can go to Golden Coast, which is about 15 minutes away.
The neighborhood is called Qinhuangdao Changli County Beidaihe Peacock City Senyu Hai (Qingya Homestay). It generally consists of townhouses or courtyard homes, perfect for families traveling together. Compared to Aranya, it's much quieter, with fewer people, making it ideal for walking dogs... If it's the off-season, it’s like having the whole place to yourselves.
The entire villa has three floors, with yards in both the front and back. The front yard has a swing, while the backyard is great for barbecuing. There’s also a large rooftop terrace, perfect for enjoying a drink and stargazing at night... The layout of the house I rented is great: the first floor is for entertainment, with a living room, dining area, and mahjong table; the second and third floors are for sleeping. The second floor has two bedrooms with three beds, each with its own bathroom, while the third floor has one bedroom with two beds and a bathroom. If everyone sleeps comfortably, it can accommodate 8 people, but if you squeeze in or add beds, it could easily fit 10.
The facilities inside are quite new: a double-door Xinfei refrigerator, Midea air conditioners, a Wanhe big-screen TV, mahjong table, barbecue grill, rice cooker, steamer, electric kettle, and dishes—everything you need. It feels like you don’t have to bring anything; just go! Beidaihe gets quite cold at night, but the bedroom air conditioners have a no-wind heating mode, which is silent and heats up quickly. The owner even prepared disposable toilet seat covers in advance—so thoughtful!
There are restaurants and supermarkets right at the neighborhood entrance, offering barbecue, seafood, breakfast, and more. Most importantly! You can order delivery straight to your door, haha~ You can totally order food and eat in the yard. I even had groceries delivered from the supermarket—after all, the whole point of a vacation is to relax and take it easy. If you go to Aranya to play, you can eat at the owner’s canteen, which has a wide variety of options. If you want to shop, you can get everything done in Aranya.
