🏞️ Yuelu Mountain No-Hiking Itinerary | South Gate In, East Gate Out

#discoverchina
Changsha’s weather is amazing lately ☀️—but many travelers aren’t sure where to start when exploring Yuelu Mountain. So here’s a tourist-friendly route and tips for an easy, smooth visit:

✅ Recommended Route:
Enter from South Gate → Exit via East Gate
🚶♀️ Suggested path:
University Town food street → Hunan University → Orange Isle Square → Yuelu Academy → Aiwan Pavilion → take the sightseeing bus up the mountain → enjoy the mountaintop scenic corridor → transfer to the slide for your descent (or continue on the bus) → exit at East Gate

❌ Other Routes (Not Recommended):
East Gate in → South Gate out: East Gate is super crowded! 😵💫
South Gate in → South Gate out: Good for those not planning to climb at all
East Gate in → East Gate out: Only makes sense if you only want to try the slide
🙏 Optional Detour:
If you're okay with a little bit of climbing, check out Lushan Temple after Yuelu Academy & Aiwan Pavilion. It’s much less commercialized than Kaifu Temple and often said to be “more spiritually responsive” 😉

🛋️ 3 No-Hiking Route Combos:
Round-trip Sightseeing Bus – ¥30
(Perfect for those scared of heights or not into slides)
Bus up + Slide down – ¥30 + ¥35
(Take bus up, transfer to slide halfway down—tell the driver to stop at the slide entrance!)
One-way Bus + Slide down – ¥20 + ¥35
(Walk ~1.7km after sightseeing, then take the slide—good for those with some stamina)
