You probably haven't seen this... it might be the most niche museum in Hunan

🏡✨ Originally built in 1969 as a grain depot, it is a distinctive product of the planned economy era. It is said that there used to be several such granaries here, but most were demolished, leaving only one, which has now been transformed into the Hunan Grain Museum.
🏯✨ The thin-shell silo design makes this granary look very unique in the residential area. The brick and tile structure with an arched roof covered by cement tiles preserves the rustic appearance of the original grain depot. The red brick walls paired with white mortar joints and the iconic five-pointed star on top combine both the era’s characteristics and local flavor.
🏡✨ The only regret is that after visiting twice, it never seemed to be open. Perhaps the main door has never been opened. According to elderly residents nearby, the interior has only been simply tidied and painted, displaying some farming tools and showcasing the grain harvesting and processing procedures.
🏡✨ This extremely niche museum is unlike other grand and magnificent museums; it offers a more down-to-earth warmth and friendliness. It is located in a picturesque countryside and is not a grand or luxurious building in the traditional sense, but carries a sense of simplicity and historical weight.
🏡✨ The era-filled architecture harmonizes perfectly with the surrounding rural scenery, as if it has always been part of this land, quietly telling the stories of time. The building’s lines are simple and smooth, without excessive decoration, yet exude a sense of grandeur and steadiness, making one feel the weight of history the moment they approach.
