In early fall, I spent a weekend in Huzhou with my friends and saw golden ginkgo trees, red metasequoia trees, and ripe wheat! It's perfect for those who want to enjoy the fall scenery!
Here's my one-day itinerary for you to check out~
Watch the sunrise at Taihu Lake Observation Deck
Dashuxia Village, Binhu Avenue, Changxing County
Free
Arrive before sunrise, and watch the reeds sway in the wind, the sky change from tranquil blue to pink to orange, and the sun rise like a salted egg yolk, illuminating the lake with starlight.
1. Have a cup of coffee at the Lakeside Metasequoia Camp
240 meters northwest of the intersection of Binhu Avenue and Taihu Greenway, Changxing County
Free
The camp is small and not crowded, but it has all the elements you need, and it's very photogenic! Across the lake is a dense and neat metasequoia forest, which will be even more beautiful in a week or two when the leaves turn red.
2. Go on a picnic at the Badu Ancient Ginkgo Corridor
Badu Scenic Area, Xiaopu Town, Changxing County, Huzhou City
CNY 70/person
Known as the "hometown of ginkgo trees in the world," this ancient village road is lined with ancient villages and ginkgo trees, with nearly 100,000 ginkgo trees forming this spectacular ancient ginkgo corridor.
Recommended attractions
1. Ginkgo Valley
2. Ancient Ginkgo Park
3. Kongwangjiao Temple
4. Sightseeing train
