When it comes to traveling in Jiangsu, the first places that come to mind are Nanjing, Suzhou, and Wuxi.
Changzhou? It doesn't seem to be the first place that comes to mind.
Even if you do think of it, it might be places like Dinosaur Park or Yancheng Chunqiu Amusement Park.
Actually, the city of Changzhou is also a great place to visit. It's relaxing and comfortable, and perfect for a city walk.
‼️My 1-day city walk route🚶🏻
Tianning Temple—Hongmei Park—Dongpo Park—Qingguo Lane Historical and Cultural Street—Banshan Bookstore
-
🚗Transportation:
Changzhou Station➕Subway🚇or self-driving
-
✨ Tianning Temple
A landmark of Changzhou, with yellow walls, a temple, and Tianning Pagoda.
Built during the Tang Dynasty, walking through it, you can feel the history.
There are activities here during holidays, and it's a place that locals often visit.
-
✨ Hongmei Park
Right next to Tianning Temple, a park famous for its Hongmei Pavilion.
Walking in, it's quiet and relaxing, with people boating on the lake🚣🏻♀️
Children👧🏻👦🏻running on the grass.
There is the ancient Wenbi Tower in the park,
and a matchmaking corner.
It's worth a visit in any season.
PS: The park is open 24 hours a day for free.
-
✨ Dongpo Park
Across the street from Hongmei Park.
It is said that Mr. Dongpo visited Changzhou 11 times and died here.
The park is where Mr. Dongpo disembarked from his boat.
To commemorate him, a pavilion was built in the park.
This Jiangnan-style park is also worth a visit.
-
✨ Qingguo Lane Historical and Cultural Street
Built during the Ming Dynasty, it is known as the No. 1 Lane of Jiangnan Scholars.
There are famous residences, ancestral halls, and bridges.
"Rivers run north and south, streets run east and west."
You can take a boat ride along the river,
and see the white walls, black tiles, and small bridges.
-
✨ Banshan Bookstore
In the afternoon, when you're tired of walking, you can come to Banshan Bookstore.
It's in a big mall🏬, that's right.
Several floors of books📚, paintings🖼️, and gifts🎁.
It's a good place to pick out gifts for others.
It's more of a new cultural business than a bookstore.
The design is unique, with huge book walls📖.
There are also exhibitions.
