Shunshan Town One-Day Leisure Guide

On this trip to Changzhou, I chose the unexpectedly excellent Courtyard by Marriott Changzhou! I didn’t expect this Courtyard to match Marriott standards, impressing me with both hardware and service. The best part is that the surrounding Shunshan Town is incredibly photogenic✨

📍Perfect Location:
Hidden in a mountain hollow at No. 11 Shunping East Road, Zhenglu Town, the navigation for driving here is very accurate. The environment by the mountain and water is stunning. The lobby’s floor-to-ceiling windows look like a landscape painting, and it’s just a 5-minute walk to the super cute Piggy Park and the ancient-style Jizi Academy.

💯Top-notch Facilities:
• Dyson hairdryer and smart toilets are standard, and the bedding is comparable to five-star hotels.
• My favorite room type has a terrace; waking up to birdsong in the morning and stargazing on the lounge chair at night.
• The indoor and outdoor heated pools are gorgeous (remember to bring a white swimsuit for Instagram-worthy shots).

👨👩👧👦Family Friendly:
The kids’ area has picture books and a craft table, the outdoor pool has a slide, and feeding the adorable animals at Piggy Park makes kids not want to leave! Our family room even had a small tent and stuffed toys.

📸Photo Tips:
1️⃣ Lobby spiral staircase: take silhouette shots at 3 PM when the sunlight slants in.
2️⃣ Shunshan Town: directly accessible from the hotel’s back door, with antique-style buildings, streams, and small bridges—wearing Hanfu here is perfect for photos.
3️⃣ Room terrace: use a wide-angle lens to capture the mountain view in the morning mist.

🍽️Food Guide:
• Don’t miss the freshly cooked wontons and freshly squeezed juice at breakfast.
• The hotel’s Chinese restaurant serves authentic Changzhou sweet and sour pork ribs.
• A 10-minute drive away is a farmhouse restaurant recommended for white fish and chicken soup.

⚠️Tips:
1. It’s recommended to drive or use Didi; Dinosaur Park is about a 25-minute drive.
2. Remember to book terrace rooms in advance on weekends; the off-season offers great value.
3. The night lights in Shunshan Town are beautiful; ask the front desk for the lighting schedule.
