Recently, I went to Chaozhou-Shantou for 4 days and 3 nights, and did a city walk 🚶, shopping, eating, and playing. Here are some honest tips to help you avoid the pitfalls!

The attractions in Chaozhou-Shantou are average, but the food is amazing! Many people go to Chaozhou-Shantou just for the food, and the attractions are secondary...

Chaozhou👉🏻 Visit the ancient city, where the attractions are concentrated
Shantou👉🏻 Arcade, more prosperous than Chaozhou, with even better food
Nan'ao Island👉🏻 Sea view, honestly, it's not as good as Southeast Asia, don't believe the project of going out to sea to see the jelly sea, it's a scam!

DAY1️⃣ Chaozhou (✈️ to Jieyang Airport, it's most convenient to take a ride-hailing car directly to Chaozhou city, the airport bus is 30 per person)

DAY2️⃣ Depart for Shantou in the morning for a day trip
Beef Double Rice (there are several nearby restaurants that can be substituted) - Ruru Glutinous Rice Shop - Longan Tofu Pudding (I think it's average) - Shantou Hostel - Plaza Ferry - Chen Youyou Night Tea - Jide Sweet Soup (highly recommended!!! Taro Milk Snow Ice)

DAY3️⃣ Bus 161A🚌 direct to Nan'ao Island🏝️ 15 per person
It is recommended to rent an electric bike for 60 per day, check in at 23°N - Bamboo Bay Beach
Note: Most beaches are similar, Bamboo Bay has the fewest people and the most beautiful scenery, don't go to the 280 per person jelly sea project, they take you to an island 40 minutes by boat from Nan'ao Island, the conditions are bad and it's a scam!

Stay near MixC in Shantou, convenient to go anywhere.

🚩About transportation
Jieyang Airport, Chaozhou, and Shantou, the best choice for transportation between the three places is ride-hailing!

For transportation in each city, shared electric bikes are the best, it's recommended to buy a multi-trip card, it's definitely worth it! Chaozhou-Shantou is the world of electric bikes!
