The Duoyi River lies in Luoping County, Yunnan Province, at the junction of Yunnan, Guizhou, and Guangxi. It connects to the Maling River Canyon National Key Scenic Area in Xingyi City, Guizhou Province. The scenic area begins at Duoyi Village, passing through the Shiwanda Mountain range. The river's waters are clear and emerald green, often visited by bamboo rafts. The scenic area offers rare views of calcified waterfalls and shallows dotted along the riverbed, as well as sugarcane fields and banana plantations of the Buyi ethnic group, recreational areas, and bamboo raft docks. Visitors can also visit the Buyi village.
The scenic area is a single-lane route, so it's recommended to walk and then take the scenic bus back to the main entrance. Visitors can drift down the dark green Duoyi River or take a rubber raft to the destination. Along the way, you can admire rare calcified waterfalls and the customs of the Buyi people. Finally, after returning by bus, at the main entrance, it's recommended to try the Duoyi River's specialty, grilled fish. It's incredibly fresh and delicious, served with chili peppers.
Luoping boasts a subtropical plateau monsoon climate; March to November is the best time to visit, offering stunning scenery. Spring, summer, autumn, and winter offer unique scenery, but from February to March, when yellow rapeseed flowers bloom everywhere, Luoping takes on a whole new dimension.
