Shou'an Temple in Chaozhou: A Thousand Years of Splendor Reflected in the Green Waters

The "Chaozhou Shou'an Temple," originally named Jinghui Temple, is located in Chaozhou West Lake Park. It was first built in the Song Dynasty and has a history of more than a thousand years. It has always been very popular. During the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, Shou'an Temple, built on the site of Jinghui Temple, was destroyed by fire. In 1924, the rebuilt Temple of the Nine Heavens collapsed. Shou'an Temple was rebuilt in 2006. Today, Shou'an Temple, with its red walls, black tiles, jade steps, colorful eaves, carved railings, and painted pillars, not only displays a classical and solemn style, but also integrates the modern elegance of a clear stream. The temple has a spacious and generous layout and a reasonable structure. It is a religious and cultural site that combines classical and modern elements.
