From Cantonese dim sum to Chaoshan beef hotpot, from Portuguese egg tarts to fermented bean curd pancakes, flavors transcend mountains and seas and meet here. Take a direct train to Chaozhou to experience this ancient city, brimming with World Heritage architecture and delicious cuisine.
🏨 Accommodation Recommendations
I recommend staying near the Old Town, as it's close to various attractions. I stayed at the Meili Man S Apartment (Chaozhou Old Town Branch), right next to the Old Town. The location was very convenient, and the staff was friendly.

✅ For lunch, you can choose some local specialties from the Old Town.
✅ Visit several buildings in the Old Town: Prince Consort Xu's Mansion and Jilue Huanggong Temple.
✅ Visit Guangji Bridge in the evening and watch the Guangji Bridge demolition ceremony at 5:00 PM.

🍲 Must-Try Food
In Chaozhou, there's so much delicious food to enjoy—beef hot pot, pickled vegetables, braised goose, clay pot congee, duck nuggets, spring rolls, rice noodles, and more—you simply can't finish them all in two days!
Popular restaurants are mainly located along Paifang Street and Xima Road, so explore them if you like. Of course, it's also fun to follow the locals and eat at some of the old-fashioned restaurants!
💡 Tips
*Guangji Bridge, Jilue Huanggong Temple, and Prince Consort Xu's Mansion all have entrance fees. Combined tickets are available on the platform for a better deal.
