Chengde Puning Temple

Puning Temple, located northeast of the Chengde Summer Palace, was built during the reign of Emperor Qianlong to commemorate the pacification of the Dzungar Khanate. Renowned for its harmonious blend of Han and Tibetan architectural styles, the temple features a Han-style structure in the front and a Tibetan-style Buddhist hall in the rear, creating a majestic and grand atmosphere. Inside the temple enshrines a towering statue of the Thousand-Armed and Thousand-Eyed Avalokiteshvara (Guanyin), one of the largest surviving wooden Buddhist statues in the world, which is truly awe-inspiring.
