#discoverchina The New Century Global Center in Chengdu, China, stands as the world’s largest building by floor area, covering approximately 1.76 million square meters. Completed in 2013, this colossal structure is a multifaceted complex featuring a vast shopping mall, offices, conference rooms, a university complex, two commercial centers, hotels, an IMAX cinema, a “Mediterranean village,” a pirate ship, and an Olympic-size skating rink . Its centerpiece is the Paradise Island Water Park, boasting a 5,000-square-meter artificial beach with a massive 150-meter-long screen simulating sunrises and sunsets . The building also houses the InterContinental Chengdu Global Center, a 975-room hotel offering panoramic water views and direct access to the water park and shopping areas . Conveniently located in Chengdu’s Tianfu New Area, the center is accessible via the Jincheng Plaza station on Line 1 of the Chengdu Metro .
