A Corner of the Huanglongxi Bu

A Corner of the Huanglongxi Buddhist Temple

A monk, by nature, has no roots.

Wandering through the world, he finds shelter in his monk's robes.

Walking through the Huanglongxi Buddhist Temple, amidst the lingering curls of incense,

the robes are not merely ornaments, but rather a symbol of responsibility,
a symbol of resting the adversity of human hearts in the light of compassion.

I watched him lower his brows and clasp his hands together,
and suddenly I understood: "Rootlessness" is not about being without support, but rather about placing one's roots in the earth and the sky, and one's heart in the Dharma and sentient beings.

A monk's robe, passing through the Buddhist temple,
actually carries all the souls in this world who have nowhere to rest.
