Hello everyone, I’m
Who says Chengdu is only about hotpot and pandas???
This thousand-year-old city of Rong flows with poetry and elegance at its core.
As a local, MeiMei has explored countless parks.
These are the ones I consider the most beautiful ancient-style parks in Chengdu.
Each one looks like it stepped right out of Tang and Song dynasty poetry.
Red walls and bamboo shadows, pavilions and waterside terraces, poetic atmospheres—all are here.
And the photo opportunities are off the charts!!!!
If you’re still struggling to find spots for ancient-style photos,
save this article, and I guarantee you’ll get photos you love 👇
1. Yiyuan Garden Art Museum
📍 No. 8 Jinquan Road, Jinniu District
Chengdu’s hidden "Little Suzhou"! White walls and black tiles with winding corridors, koi fish chasing fallen flowers in the pond, walking on bluestone paths with an umbrella on a rainy day, it feels like you’ve arrived at the Humble Administrator’s Garden. The park has over 30 ancient buildings; the Moon Gate, Beauty Leaning, and Listening to Rain Pavilion are perfect photo frames. Wearing Hanfu here instantly turns you into the heroine of an ancient romance.

2. Tanghu Park
📍 No. 2, Section 1, Tanghu West Road, Shuangliu District
An 80-acre lake surrounded by pavilions and towers. In spring, crabapple blossoms fall like confetti; in summer, lotus leaves stretch endlessly. My favorite is the Nine-Bend Bridge on the lake; walking on it, watching boats glide by, startling a flock of egrets. At dusk, watch the sunset dye the flying eaves red from the lake pavilion—ancient vibes at full throttle.

3. Guihu Park
📍 No. 3 Guihu West Road, Xindu District
The private garden of Ming dynasty top scholar Yang Sheng’an, with a century-old lotus pond reflecting a vermilion ancient pavilion. In autumn, the scent of osmanthus is breathtaking. The park hides over 10 cliff inscriptions; the long corridor is hung with poetry lanterns. Sitting here reading "Lotus Pond Moonlight," time slows down.

4. Baihuatan Park
📍 No. 175, Section 2, West Second Ring Road, Qingyang District
The "Chengdu Peach Blossom Spring" in Ba Jin’s writing! Under a thousand-year-old camphor tree lies the ruins of the Tang dynasty Sanhua Tower. A stone arch bridge over the stream connects the bonsai garden and orchid garden. Sitting on a bench by Huanhua Creek, watching elders walk birds and scholars sketch—this is the slow life of Chengdu.

5. Culture Park
📍 No. 23 Qintai Road, Qingyang District
A Ming and Qing architectural complex hidden in the city center! Vermilion palace walls with glazed tiles, golden ginkgo leaves cover the paths in autumn, it feels like stepping into a corner tower of the Forbidden City. The park also has a Sichuan-style bonsai garden and a tea culture corridor. Have a cup of gaiwan tea and listen to storytelling, soaking in the old Chengdu atmosphere.

Don’t just know the Heming Teahouse! The Shaocheng Garden in the park hides a Suzhou-style garden, with rockeries, flowing water, and carved window lattices. Under the century-old ficus tree, stone tables and stools often host elders practicing calligraphy. In late autumn, watch thousands of chrysanthemums bloom at the chrysanthemum exhibition—ancient charm perfectly blends with everyday life.

7. Longtan Water Town
📍 Location: Longtansi Street, Chenghua District
Known as "Chengdu’s Zhouzhuang," a Tang-style architectural complex. During the day, watch black-awning boats glide under arch bridges; at night, red lanterns light up like a scene from "The Longest Day in Chang’an." My favorite spots are the Nine-Dragon Wall and Listening to Rain Pavilion, with flying eaves and upturned corners framed by blue sky and white clouds—like a painting.
