📍Take a look at the 130-year-old ancient palace in the heart of Chiang Mai.

Khum Chao Burirat, also known as Khum Klang Wiang by Chiang Mai locals as Khum Klang Wiang (City of the City) because it's located at the Klang Wiang intersection in the heart of Chiang Mai, is a large wooden, half-concrete mansion. Anyone passing by should definitely stop by and take a look inside. It's quiet, peaceful, and shady. Just stepping inside feels like stepping back in time, filled with memories and historical relics.

Khum Klang Wiang has a history of over 130 years. The caretaker explained that it was built between 1889 and 1893. The owner or builder of the mansion was "Chao Noi Maha In," who held the title of "Chao Burirat." He was the second son of Prince Viceroy Bimbisara and was a prominent figure during the late reign of King Kawiroros Suriyawong, the sixth ruler of Chiang Mai. This mansion is now the "Lanna Architecture Center," managed by the Faculty of Architecture, Chiang Mai University.
