Chiang Mai, Thailand is a world-famous tourist resort city. Every day, thousands of tourists come here for sightseeing and vacation. There are many historical sites and temple attractions in Chiang Mai. This time I will introduce an ancient temple located on Doi Suthep Mountain in Chiang Mai: Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. Doi Suthep Temple is also called Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. It is said that a Sri Lankan monk placed the relics of Sakyamuni Buddha on a white elephant, which chose the site and finally stopped at Doi Suthep Mountain. The royal family built this Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, and there are two long dragons guarding the steps at the entrance, so it is called Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is considered to be the Mount Sumeru of the Lanna Kingdom, a thought that is a symbol of the fusion of Hinduism and Buddhism, and is also the most important temple in Chiang Mai. After hundreds of years of history, the main building has not changed, but the main entrance has changed a lot, with an observation deck and pavilion added to the east side, an attic on the steps and an additional cable station in the southeast corner. Go down the stairs and continue west. Along the way, you will see the main entrance of Shuanglong Temple to determine your direction. In front of you are handicraft and food stalls. To the north are the steps leading to Shuanglong Temple. In ancient times, travelers came to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep and took photos to prove that they had arrived in Chiang Mai. There are 306 steps leading to the Doi Suthep Temple. On both sides of the steps are tall nine-headed dragons called "Naga", with their bodies winding along the way to serve as railings. Two giant dragon-like bodies, about a hundred meters long, rise up over 300 steps to the entrance of Shuanglong Temple, looking majestic and breathtaking.
