Wat Dok Kham, Chiang Mai

Wat Dok Kham, located in Si Phum Subdistrict, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai Province, was built around 1783, as evidenced by the inscription on the base of a Buddha image in the viharn. This was during the reign of King Kawila, the ruler of Chiang Mai. The temple was originally called Wat Chang Tho Kham, but was renamed Wat Dok Kham to rhyme with the nearby temple. While strolling along Tha Phae Gate, I came across Wat Dok Kham. It was so beautiful, I had to stop and pay my respects. Chiang Mai has many temples, and this is another beautiful temple in the city.
