#GetDiscountsWithoutLuck Phaya Mangrai and Phaya Ruang, also known as Khun Ramkhamhaeng the Great, kings of Sukhothai, and Phaya Ngam-Muang of Phayao, also known as Phukamyam, consulted together on the city's construction. Upon completion, the city was named "Nopburi Si Nakhon Ping Chiang Mai."
To the east of Wiang Lek is a forest with a large swamp. The royal elephants of the three kings and their courtiers were kept and tethered in this area, known as "Wiang Chiang Chang." Later, a temple was built at Wiang Chiang Chang, where the elephants were kept and tethered, serving as a memorial. The temple is called "Wat Lam Chang," and a statue of a tethered elephant is placed as the temple's symbol.
Here's a brief history. There's more to it. If you're interested, you can read more. I read about it online. This temple is striking, with its elephant statue and beautiful entrance. Reading the history is fascinating. There are so many temples in Chiang Mai, each with its own history and story. #GetDiscountsWithoutLuck #WatLamChang
